1. Toe Taps

Purpose: Improves touch and foot agility, helping players build confidence in controlling the ball underfoot.

How to Perform:

  • Stand with the ball in front of you.
  • Alternately tap the top of the ball with the sole of each foot, keeping your knees slightly bent.
  • Maintain a light touch, and gradually increase your speed as you gain control.

2. Inside-Outside Touches

Purpose: Enhances coordination and ball control by using both the inside and outside of the foot.

How to Perform:

  • Stand with the ball slightly in front of you.
  • Using one foot, push the ball with the inside, then tap it back with the outside of the same foot.
  • Repeat the motion continuously, switching to the other foot after a set time.

3. Sole Rolls

Purpose: Improves control while rolling the ball, helping with directional changes in tight spaces.

How to Perform:

  • Place the sole of one foot on the ball and roll it across your body.
  • Repeat with the other foot, moving the ball back and forth.

4. Inside-Inside-Outside

How to Perform:

  • Using the inside of one foot, push the ball back behind you by turning your body to face the other direction.
  • Practice alternating feet to develop quick turning skills.

6. Stepovers

Purpose: Improves coordination and balance, allowing players to feint and fake out opponents.

How to Perform:

  • Swing one foot around the front of the ball in a circular motion, without touching it.
  • Use the opposite foot to push the ball in the opposite direction, simulating a quick move past a defender.
  • Repeat the drill, alternating feet for a balanced approach.

7. L-Drags

Purpose: Builds control while shifting the ball in an “L” shape, useful for maintaining possession and changing directions.

How to Perform:

  • Use the sole of one foot to drag the ball back toward you.
